Nutrition Scientist, Maternity cover - Aarhus

Would you like to be part of driving and setting the direction for the health agenda in Arla Foods?


This is your chance to spend around 12 months in this maternity cover in a highly skilled team of scientists based in our world class innovation centre. In this position you will gain a network across the organisation as you work cross-functionally and with different science teams.


You will join Global Nutrition where we drive the health strategy of Arla Foods in terms of research and development. We are 10 colleagues, most with PhDs, who are passionate about how we help the consumers to live a healthier life and ambitious about our joint efforts. About the job

In this maternity cover, starting latest 1st March or 1st April, you will play an important role in ensuring our Arla products are as healthy and innovative as possible. Thus, you will be the primary point of contact for one of our Arla categories and markets. You will also be part of driving the research agenda to support the strategic direction in Arla.


This entails creating a framework for how to potentially solve nutritional and taste challenges, e.g. ensure beneficial nutrients, reduce sugar, salt and fat and develop affordable or premium nutritional solutions.


Specifically, you will be the one to translate nutrition and health science into business, delivering the solutions by integrating your knowledge into the business and projects. You do so by:


  • Integrating all your nutrition knowledge into new product development
  • Providing a strong science-based feed into our corporate communication agenda
  • Drive and ensure a strategic fit in  our open innovation projects within the field of nutrition
  • Enabling two-way knowledge transfer with stakeholders in Arla Foods, e.g. NPD, Marketing, Sales and Communication

A holistic thinker with a commercial mind-set, you are a champion at translating your scientific knowledge into business. And being outgoing, you enjoy stakeholder management, collaboration and explaining your findings to colleagues outside your own function.


You will take part in setting the direction for your area, so it is important that you speak your mind, are innovative as well as performance-driven and create structure around you. We imagine that you:


  • Have a MSc and PhD in nutrition and food science and perhaps research experience within nutrition science – but if you have recently graduated, you are also welcome to apply
  • Maybe have experience from the food industry
  • Are fluent in English
