About the job

At the Innovation Centre, you will join the Sensory & Consumer Science team, a team of 12 sensory and consumer scientists and technicians (in DK, SE, UK and BH). We are part of Design and Connect where we together with product designers create the future pipelines of products. You will take part in delivering consumer and product experience insights and recommendations to both innovation and business. Doing so, you will work closely with product designers and sensory scientists on the product experience, and scientists and stakeholders across the organisation.

 

As consumer scientist, you will take part in the strategic development of our competences, identify new methods, leverage science internally and externally, build our external collaboration with agencies and universities together with our consumer scientists. To help you create results, we have access to consumer panels and trained sensory panels.

 

The role consists of two main areas and your role will be to:

Develop our consumer product experience

  • Take part in the strategic development of our competence within product experience
  • Drive internal research and inspire, embed and implement external research
  • Build and maintain a network, with universities, organisations and suppliers
  • Amaze and engage the Arla Innovation community in consumer perception from prototyping to launch
  • Manage and further develop guidelines for best practise

 

Design and manage consumer studies to support early development

  • Take part in identifying research needs, derive briefs and add to insight generation. Assist consumer scientists in focus areas. This includes Arla Consumer Panel administration, recruitment for tasks, setting up questionnaires, interfacing with agencies, and performing data analyses in diverse projects.
  • Design experiments and test series
  • Select and use suitable research methods
  • Analyse and synthesize test results into insights to communicate to stakeholders

 

Your profile

We are looking for a passionate scientist with competence within:

  • Consumer Research expertise at all levels of the development process, including scoping and designing long-term research plans and communicating expected deliverables at each stage.
  • Experience and high level of knowledge related to quantitative consumer test (Product tests - CLT, HUT, Concept test, Typology, Usage & Attitudes, Surveys) statistics, data analysis and modelling (Regression, partial least squares regression, path modelling).Solid skills in basic and advanced data analysis, statistics and modelling needed. Advanced user of software for data collection (Qualtrics or similar) and statistical analysis (XLSTAT, SPSS, R or similar).
  • Experience with qualitative consumer methodologies (consumer workshops, interviews, ethnography).
  • Strong communication skills and comfortability with sharing technical findings (ex: relevant statistics, findings from model applications) with diverse audiences.

 

Further we expect you to:

  • Have a relevant university degree, within Cognitive Science, Marketing, Food Science, Food Innovation and Health , with a solid statistical background.
  • A strong interest in applied consumer science and Innovation, multidisciplinary approaches and are passionate about it.  Experience working within the FMCG industry is a plus.
  • Speak and write Danish, and fluent in English
  • Have an interest in food, consumers and food experiences.

  • You are eager to use your competence within consumer product experience in a business environment, and have strong communication skills to share your insights.
  • You are a team player who involves, shares and engages your fellow scientists.
  • You are inspired by uncovering  insights within consumer product experience and you are curious, analytical and strategic in your approach.
  • You have the experience that allows you to comfortably interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, both externally and internally, and manage multiple projects.
